Problem of Commercial Fluorescent Materials: Aggregation-Caused Quenching, Painful to Use

  • Commercial fluorescent materials are weak or not emissive in solid state or high concentration
  • Low resistance to excitation, easily photo-bleaching
  • Low resolution while performing cell imaging experiments
  • Hard to be used in solid state or high concentration condition
  • Less sensitive at solid state or high concentration

AIE Materials Solve the Problem

  • Strong emission upon aggregation (solid/powder state)
  • High resistance to UV excitation, anti-photobleaching
  • High resolution in cell imaging
  • The higher the concentration, the stronger the emission
  • Highly sensitive at solid state or high concentration

After the registration in February 2016, we are funded under TSSSU (Technology Start-up Support Scheme for Universities) program lead by the Commissioner for Innovation and Technology.

He was elected to the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) in 2009 and 2013, respectively. His publications have been cited & 40,000 times, with an h-index of 134. He is now serving as Editor-in- Chief of Materials Chemistry Frontiers (RSC & CCS). He is spearheading the research on aggregation-induced emission (AIE), a topic ranked no. 2 in the areas of Chemistry and Materials Science by Thomson Reuters in its report on Research Fronts 2015.".
